ALT Hotel WinnipegLocated in Winnipeg, in major real estate development project in the heart of the Sports Hospitality Entertainment District (SHED), powered by CentreVenture Development Corporation. This important project located on Portage Avenue will be jointly developed by Longboat Development Corporation and Groupe Germain Hospitality. The building, covering 200,000 square feet over 20 storeys, will house the province's first ALT Hotel and the headquarters of Stantec's Winnipeg office, a Canadian based professional consulting company. This is the first private project in several decades in this part of the city, and will significantly contribute to the revitalization of the downtown core.

ALT banner of hotels, powered ALT Hotels Groupe Germain Hospitality, a Canadian family business with its headquarters in Quebec City, are stylish and trendy establishments that blend comfort, intelligent design and an innovative concept. Their no-frills approach to services allows them to offer a unique atmosphere at a reasonable rate. In Quebec City, the business owns and operates two ALT Hotels, one in Quebec City and the other in Montreal (Quartier DIX30). Three new ALT Hotels are scheduled to open their doors by the end of 2013, one at Toronto's Pearson Airport, one in Montreal's Griffin District and one in downtown Winnipeg.
Local firm Stantec will produce the architecture for the overall complexe, in collaboration with Lemay Michaud Architecture Design who will oversee the interior finishing.
The hotel was built using energy efficient techniques and consists of prefabricated rooms, a brand new construction concept. Renova, in Plessisville, Québec, constructs the prefabricated rooms.

The project will incorporate a new 20-storey tower where Groupe Germain Hospitality will operate a 154 rooms ALT Hotel on the upper 12 floors. The main floor will be retail and restaurant space, and offices will occupy floors two to six.
ALT Hotel Winnipeg is the unique alternative to conventional hotels. It offers remarkable design and impeccable service to its clients by focusing on the essential elements that make a hotel stay memorable and comfortable. Its lobby will be situated on the main floor, at the corner of Portage and Donald, facing the Winnipeg Jets' home ice.
In the main lobby, guests can enjoy a coffee as well as areas for reading and relaxation. A fitness room is available to all guests.
More than 4500 ft2 are devoted to business meetings. Some rooms are equipped with 50-inch plasma televisions.
ALT Hotel Winnipeg offers a smoke free environment. Every effort is made to use products that can be reused, refilled or recycled. Recycling bins are placed in all rooms and public areas.
