Groupe Germain Welcomes Christopher Vachon as General Manager of Hôtel Le Germain Calgary.
Christiane Germain, Co-President of Groupe Germain, is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Vachon as the General Manager of Hôtel Le Germain Calgary. Le Germain Calgary is a 20-storey development at 9th Avenue and Centre Street SW that features a 143-room boutique hotel, 40 luxury condominium units and an office tower. Hôtel Le Germain Calgary will welcome its first guests in December 2009, with condominium owners and office tenants following in March 2010.

Mr. Vachon has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality and service industry, having successfully launched seven hotels across Canada and the U.S. to date in his career. In addition to his responsibilities at Hôtel Le Germain Calgary, Christopher is involved with SKAL (the International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals), on the advisory board of SAIT Polytechnic's hospitality and tourism program and is currently completing his executive MBA at the Haskayne School of Business.

Groupe Germain's first multi-concept project, Le Germain Calgary is a 20-storey development, featuring 40 luxury condominium units above two separate buildings that will house a 143-room boutique hotel and office tower. The three components will join in a bridge formation creating an open breezeway in the centre. Innovative energy-saving features include geothermal heating and cooling systems, high-performance glass with operable windows, large green roof areas with rainwater recovery for watering, and energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems.
