KAWARTHA ECOLOGICAL GROWERS wants you to join them for dinner
Saturday, August 9 and Saturday, October 4, 2008

Kawartha Ecological Growers throws opens its doors and invites you to join them in a culinary adventure, created by Chez Victor executive chef, David Chrystian and inspired by the terroir of the Kawarthas.

Featuring local foods, harvested that very day, each evening’s menu will be in harmony with the season in which it is held and will feature food that is fresh, local, ecological and fair trade.

Hosted by Grassroots Organics, the unofficial home of KEG Kawartha Ecological Growers, these culinary adventures will take place on an actual working farm in Woodville, Ontario. For those interested in spending the night and waking up to all the beauty that the Kawartha Lakes has to offer, special Overnight Packages will be available at local Inns and B&Bs.

Monies raised from these delectable evenings will go towards sending selected delegates from Toronto's Slow Food community to Terra Madre 2009 in Torino, Italy*.

Each evening costs $150 per person and we encourage you to bring a wine of your choosing. Menu details will be released close to the date in order to assist you with your beverage selection. Please note that due to seating limitations, tickets are limited.

KEG Kawartha Ecological Growers is a collection of small-scale farmers growing good food!

*Terra Madre brings together those players in the food chain who together support sustainable agriculture, fishing, and breeding with the goal of preserving taste and biodiversity. Held concurrently with Salone del Gusto in Torino from October 23 to 27, the third edition of the biennial international meeting of the Terra Madre Network will bring together food communities, cooks, academics and youth delegates for four days to work towards increasing small-scale, traditional, and sustainable food production.
